SDSU - SmartDSU for Toyota Models as full-speed control
SDSU - SmartDSU for Toyota Models as full-speed control
SDSU means SmartDSU, a hardware, a small black box appearance, which is for Toyota vehicles with a Driver Support Unit (DSU).
Under normal circumstances, Toyota vehicles can start Adaptive Cruise Control(ACC) at 45km/h, and at 40km/h will be automatically lifted. So Toyota's TSS-P vehicles can't follow the front car at full speed.
The vehicle with the full speed range has the queuing function, which can follow the front car from 0km/h (commonly known as stop-and-go, referred to as SnG), such as the stop-and-go situation when queuing in traffic jams.
By installing SDSU, SnG can be achieved, and the following models have been verified by OP community drivers:
- Toyota Corolla 2017~2019
- Toyota RAV4 and RAV4 hybrid 2016~2018
- Toyota Prius and Prius Prime 2016~2020
- Toyota highlander 2017~2019
- Toyota Sienna 2018~2019
Unfortunately, Camrys DO NOT have DSUs, and thus can not have an SDSU added, thus they will only work in lateral mode.
Due to its special working principle, the cost of SDSU installation is that the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) function will be disabled.
Buying tip: SDSU is not included in dingopilot kit, and it needs to be purchased separately. ONLY some Toyota models need SDSU. After purchase, it needs to be used with a dingopilot kit. When Dingopilot Kit and SDSU are fully installed, the L2 assist Driving experience will be significantly enhanced!
